Pageant Involvement |
My involvement in the Miss America Organization has provided me a platform with which to spread my personal mission of Funding Pediatric Cancer Research.
In 2011, my dear friend was diagnosed with Cancer and began The Journey to fight for her life! While watching my friend battle her cancer I felt pulled to learn more about her disease. It was then that I stumbled upon the most crushing statistic I have ever read! ONLY 4% of funding dollars raised for cancer research is given to find a cure for Pediatric Cancer! ONLY 4%!!! With limited treatment options for children I found it imperative that we begin working NOW to find a cure! That is why I created The Journey! To not only inspire you to contribute funds towards this cause, but to raise awareness for the current lack of funding. Together we can make a difference in the lives of children across the nation! Join The Journey today! |
2013 I won the title of Miss Princess Altona in Vergas, Minnesota. After working with this program my interest was sparked to continue on in the Miss America Organization pageant system.
In 2014 I won the title of Miss Moorhead's Outstanding Teen and championed my platform of Pediatric Cancer. During this year I made several appearances with my platform and competed at the Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen Pageant in April of 2015. Placing in the top 5 was very rewarding! Not only did I share my platform but I also was awarded scholarship dollars to further my education after high school. August of 2015 I was awarded the title of Miss Heart of the Lakes' Outstanding Teen in Perham, MN. June of 2016 marks my final year of eligibility for the Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen pageant., a preliminary to the Miss America's Outstanding Teen competition. |
